"The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne"
Chapter Six
Chapter Summary
Bruno was lying in bed when he spoke out loud, that helped him calm down about things. Just then, Maria came in. Once again, he started a conversation with Maria about going back home to Berlin. Out loud Bruno called his Father stupid. Maria stared at Bruno in horror and told him never to say that. She told him how her Mother took care and served his Grandmother. His Father took Maria in and even paid for her Mothers funeral, he provided shelter, clothes and food. After Bruno heard, he actually felt proud of his Father. Gretel came in and impolitely instructed Maria to run her a bath; then angrily left. With that, their conversation was over.
Reaction
Bruno does have a right to say his feeling out like. I disagree with Maria that he cannot speak his feelings and share them aloud. Everyone has the right to speak their feelings. However, I slightly agree with Maria and say that if it is something bad that someone would not want to hear then do not say it out loud.
